This is Sam. He's my Betta fish that Melissa gave me for Christmas. Fortunately for me, but maybe not for Sam, he is a very low maintenance fish. He gets fed about once a day and I change his water once every ten days or so. I did buy him a light to add a little heat and light to his otherwise boring days. I guess fish were made to swim around all day. He seems to be surviving my lack of interaction with him. I was going to get him a friend for his tank but was told at PetSmart that he likes being alone. He would likely eat other fish anyways! Maybe he has the same chemical imbalances that I have! So that's Sam...he would love for you to come visit sometime (as would I)!

I've been bitten
So an old bug has bitten me and I'm now a lost cause...I very innocently agreed to help the new basketball coach with practice yesterday. That led to helping during the game today. While I may not travel to away games with them, I'm fairly certain I'll be at every practice and each home game. I've missed basketball greatly and have needed to focus my coaching abilities into something other than volleyball. As with volleyball, this school has not been very successful in their girls basketball program. It makes me seem like a genius with the few things I do know. Unfortunately, the coach is a tall post player like myself. I did work with the point guards yesterday - boy was that an experience! It has given me the opportunity to build on some relationships with some of my volleyball girls and encourage some others in the athletic endeavours.
PS - I have a surprise visit from my grandparents and Dad today at school! Scared me to death at first when they called and said my Dad was in the office looking for me, but my grandparents were thrilled to death to see my school!

Tuesdays
Tuesday has officially become "class" day. I did complete two of my counseling DVDs this evening. I'm ready to take a test on this section. That will hopefully be completed in the next 48 hours. I enjoyed and struggled through the topics of today's classes. One hit pretty close to home and the other simply repulsed and greatly saddened me to think about. I am enjoying these DVDs and learning things from them. Part of me is still wanting an all-out masters/PhD in this stuff. We'll see...
Sorry I haven't gotten my camera connected to my laptop yet. I have a great picture of Sam (who most of you need to meet) and will have that up soon. Enjoy the rest of your week!

I missed December
So I missed posting onto my blog for the entire month of December, but those of you that know me know why. I was attempting to be an 8th grade teacher, a middle school volleyball coach, a JO volleyball coach, a friend to many, a good daughter, and just maintain a few hours of sleep each night. Needless to say I didn't have too much time to keep up with my blog. I also had a few slight issues with my faithful but dying laptop. I'm working on it, but some financial challenges this past month have brought me back to laying hands on this wonderful computer for another month or so. I did get a new camera for Christmas and will hopefully be posting some pictures soon. I have a doctor's appointment right after school tomorrow so I hope to be home to enjoy my free evening quickly. My goal is to watch at least one of my classes for my counseling certificate and to post some pictures from my camera onto my blog. We'll see how this all comes about.
Finally (notice the fine print) I will be helping with the girl's basketball team at LMS this season. My role is limited and really yet to be defined by me. The coach is a newbie and wants my "sage" advice. She knows the game but is struggling with how to coach the girls. I'm honored that she asked and excited to get back into the gym!
YES I AM A GYM RAT!
