This is the pathway to the beach. We did play like two seconds of volleyball but it was too windy and TOO cold. Someone did manage to hit the ball into the ocean.
Wright Brother's memorial...on top of a really long hill and when you're struggling with a stomach virus it was not very pleasant. The sky was a beautiful Carolina blue though. The scaffolding makes for an interesting picture as well.
North Carolina's most famous lighthouse. This is the one that got moved up the road to protect it from the eroding beaches. Pretty cool even if we didn't get to go up inside of it!
The amusement park on the beach the first night of our trip. I did take on some of the kids on the go-cart track, but those things weren't made for someone as tall as me. I drove with my knees up to my chin. I started in the back of the pack and worked my way up to the first five finishers. We had fun!
Fort Macon. I can't tell you too much about this fort because I was wandering with my camera as the kids listened to a talk from a historical ranger dude. They paid attention for quite awhile. It was pretty cool and made me miss Melanie because she would've loved it! I hope the pictures I'm sending her does it some justice.
My girls - well a few of them! Erika and Christy - nice sweatshirts! Sabrina - my seatmate for most of the way home - definitely made my trip better! Carson - that girl is crazy but I love her to death!
